Heimdal is a town 12 km from Trondheim to be developed in the project. Norway is the country in Europe with the highest material consumption per capita. At the same time, four out of ten Norwegians are lonely. Heimdal testifies to a lack of comprehensive planning and facilitates only for the standardized single-family housing situation. The car with its driver is given priority over the cyclist and the pedestrian. The density is low and most of the urban spaces are asphalted. The aforementioned issues motivated us to create a Heimdal where sharing is at the center. All new grants to the city reinforce residents’ flexibility to share with each other. Multifunctional premises that facilitate use around the clock creates a vibrant and dynamic center and provides for economic energy consumption. The new Heimdal is for people in different family- and living situations, and focuses on a more sustainable way of living.
